Campus: New York University (NYU)
Amin Husain is a New York–based adjunct educator and activist who organized and promoted disruptive, often violent actions in NYC while aligning with movements that deny or excuse terror against Israelis. NYU suspended him on January 25, 2024; the New School says he has not been affiliated since 2019. He has taught part-time at NYU’s Gallatin School and Pratt Institute.
Organizing Violent Disruptions in New York City
As a co-founder of Decolonize This Place (DTP) and a close ally of Within Our Lifetime (WOL), Husain publicly advocated “waging… war” on the city’s “nerve centers,” celebrating the ability to “shut down the city.” He tied this rhetoric to DTP’s FTP I/II/III actions (2019–2020). FTP III (January 2020) caused roughly $100,000 in subway damage; arrests followed during FTP II. Leading up to these events, he posted “how-to” graphics (laser to blind cameras, hammer to smash machines, glue to clog readers), amplified “NO SNITCHING,” and circulated banners like “PUNCH THAT COP!! NYPD OUT OF MTA.”
Denial and Justification of October 7 Atrocities
At a December 5, 2023 SJP teach-in at The New School, Husain denied reports that Hamas beheaded babies and raped women on October 7 (“We know it’s not true”), recasting the massacre as “the Palestinian liberation struggle,” and declaring, “We live in a Zionist city… let’s be f**king real.” At a November 17, 2023 SJP event he added, “This land isn’t for the Jews, I’m sorry… You’re either on the side of the colonizer or the colonized.”
Celebrating/Platforming Terror Actors
Husain’s 2015 film work The Coming Intifada included a visit to senior PIJ figure Khader Adnan, who publicly praised suicide bombings. He repeatedly shared PFLP posters (2017–2021), praised leaders such as Khalida Jarrar and Ghassan Kanafani, referenced Ahmad Sa’adat, and circulated a graphic featuring Hamas spokesman Abu Obaida lauding prison-break terrorists. He also amplified a post with a pistol graphic days after an Israeli officer was killed.
Targeting Pro-Israel Donors and Institutions
Through Strike MoMA (2021), Husain and allies personally targeted museum trustees over Israel ties; he spilled red paint at BlackRock, spoke as protesters burned an Israeli flag at Rockefeller Center, and vowed to “go wherever you are comfortable.” Projections on MoMA read: “Long live Palestine! Fire to the colonizers!”
Anti-American and Anti-Police Incitement
Husain’s speeches and posts include “Fk this U.S. empire!” and calls for “insurgent” neighborhood organizing. He shared images of Molotovs and slogans like “THE ANSWER ALWAYS IS FK THE POLICE,” “ACAB – EVEN YOUR DAD,” and “Kill the cop in your head,” along with photos of burning American and Israeli flags and graphics such as “FINANCING FASCISM.”
Boasting of Violent “First Intifada” Participation
Husain publicly described throwing rocks and Molotov cocktails during the first intifada, urged supporters not to renounce peers “fighting in a way that’s unacceptable,” invoked “Jihadis… in all the ways possible,” and has said he was a Fatah member.

Conclusion
Through street-level militancy, sabotage guidance, denial of October 7 atrocities, and praise for terror operatives, Amin Husain normalizes violent “resistance” while vilifying Jews and Israel. His activity—often adjacent to campus groups and events—encourages hostility toward Jewish students and faculty, reframes terrorism as liberation, and blurs the line between academic engagement and open incitement.
